Reason for migration?
Just curious, why are all these wiki's being migrated to the new host AWS?

- AishaTavon: Presumably, this will put one more of Amazon's services onto their network, making it cheaper for Gamepedia to be hosted (almost free, since this is Amazon hosting), faster, and make it easier for them to expand without having to worry. -Xbony2, WikiNerd (talk) 11:26, 3 October 2017 (UTC)
- Moving Gamepedia's technical infrastructure to AWS will have many benefits in the long term. It will allow Gamepedia to continue growing (we open an average of one wiki each day!) as well as aid us in making improvements to site latency and load times in the future. We understand the migration is moderately disruptive to our editing community, but we strongly feel that the benefits outweigh this short disruption to the wikis. Separate languages
With the (English) Minecraft Wiki being a 'Phase 2' Wiki, does that mean all the other languages of said Wiki, e.g. minecraft-ru, minecraft-nl, minecraft-hu, are part of minecraft.gamepedia.com or treated as a separate Wiki? DarkShadowTNT (talk) 22:53, 2 October 2017 (UTC)
- All language variants of wikis are treated as extensions of the base wiki. Misterwoodhouse (talk) 22:57, 2 October 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for your quick reply. Would it be an idea to add that above the Phase 2 table, saying that separate languages are considered to be part of the main Wiki? DarkShadowTNT (talk) 19:21, 3 October 2017 (UTC)
- Good suggestion. I've done so! CrsBenjamin (talk) 19:37, 3 October 2017 (UTC)
