Gamepedia Help Wiki

This page aims to establish procedures and guidelines for wiki editors seeking to request official assets from a developer, or establish direct communication for another reason.

Before Contacting Gamepedia

Check if the wiki is "Official" -- If not, it is unlikely that we can assist with a request.

Consider the nature of your request. Typically requests for assets are most likely to be successful if they are specific and explain the reasoning behind the request. For instance "all of the game's icons" would be a bad request because it is quite vague. A more appropriate request might be "Icons used in the game's UX such as <example file> because the cropped screenshots currently being used are very low-quality."

If you are seeking to directly contact a developer, you must include a good reason for needing that contact. Gamepedia will not be able to fulfill all requests. Additionally, consider if there are other avenues for contacting a developer that might make more sense, such as an official Discord server or Twitter DMs.

Submitting a Request

To submit a request you must be a member of the Gamepedia Slack team. On that Slack, send your request in a message to Ben Robinson using a DM to @ben. Remember, all requests will be on a case-by-case basis and we cannot compel any developers to provide assets.

Following up on a Request

If you have not heard anything after 1 full week, you may send a polite follow-up to Ben to check the status of your request. Most often, this will mean we have not heard back from the developer yet. Generally, as soon as we hear back, we will let you know.
